Floral Design, Class 9-Green Flash

Floral designers in this class create artworks reflecting the natural phenomenon of the Green Flash, which appears above the water at sunset.  The famous but seldom seen "green flash" also called an "emerald flash" occurs just before the last part of the sun disappears from view at sunset.  This is caused by the same atmospheric refraction and scattering effects which produce a red sunset. These floral artworks are intended to be viewed from three sides with a small dot on the pedestal indicating the front.  Arrangements may extend a maximum of 15 inches from the center pedestal.
